Be Careful Who You Google

I have had a lot of ups and downs in my career. My resume is varied and looks like a regular roller coaster of employment. I expected it to be a straight ladder of success for my working life. Not company jets and fast cars, just one track going in one direction (hopefully forward). Apparently, the real world isn’t so simple.

It always seemed so obvious. You go to school, study hard. Choose a field and find a job in said field and get your foot in the door. Then you gain experience and obtain higher positions with more responsibilities and begin to guide the next wave of post-grads with your wisdom. I always saw life for me that way. But the economy, relationships and just plain foolishness derailed me more than once. But it taught me lessons I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
